Spirit Babies - a layer deeper | 4/13/25
I’m going to go a little deeper on the “spirit” of spirit babies; a little more perspective about our spiritual relationships, and how spirit can help us heal. Spirit babies and healing
Parents know that having a baby is a life changing experience. Often people talk about how it reminds them of what is important, it encourages them to be more open, more playful. It can also bring up wounds from your own childhood, resolved or still raw.
Working with your spirit baby before they incarnate can be a way to access these energies before you have a human baby to care for around the clock. It can be a way to prepare for the very real material needs and changes you will navigate.
Sometimes this healing shows up in the form of challenges: trouble conceiving or staying pregnant, or emotional pain as you fight with a partner. Your spirit baby can offer you another perspective, or a reminder of what you desire.
If you are someone who actively chooses healing journeys, having a baby will probably take you down some new, but familiar paths. In some ways, our babies are going to heal us, whether we ask them to or not!
A baby will open your eyes to a list of existential questions and curiosities. It may redefine you.
Your spirit baby can help you feel less alone, by allowing you to energetically hold the hand of this being who’s on the journey of Life with you. This being who might very literally be part of you, during one of the biggest journeys you take. They can help you learn how to comfort them and how to care for them. This way, you can practice being their parent now, before you walk with them through the doors of life on earth.
You will have to make so many choices along the way. And I promise that making these choices with access to connection and communication with your spirit baby will make it easier. Luckily, it’s easy to connect, you just need to learn how. Spirit babies are willing partners in this process. Being patient and understanding is their nature. They want to talk with us, and are happy when we find our way to listen.
Soul contracts - you and your spirit baby
Any kind of conception and birth comes with a soul contract. When I’m working with a client who has already conceived, I know there is a soul contract between the spirit baby and the parents. Sometimes this is a trio: mom, dad, baby. Sometimes it involves more souls: if there are donors, if surrogacy or adoption are part of the plan. There is also a contract I see between mother, womb, and baby. A soul contract doesn’t guarantee life or any specific outcome, but conception guarantees a soul contract.
Spirit babies know what they are choosing. Sometimes, their choice is karma-based: a role reversal between the two or three of you from a past lifetime. Or your souls were family in a past life, and you all felt like you had more to do together, so you reincarnated in the same configuration. Some spirit babies are wise, some more naive. They make deliberate choices about their parents either way.
Regardless of the family, I pray for healthy system dynamics for each spirit baby. I pray that the relationships are reciprocal and loving, not extraction based. When there is karmic healing ahead, I hope for the best outcomes. Often, I receive messages about healthy family dynamics and coach for this during sessions. I’ve done extensive work in healing dysfunctional family dynamics and understanding health constellations which shines through my readings.
Spirit babies arrive with a support team of their own guides who are assigned to them at conception. But even though they carry all of this wisdom, it’s important we treat them like babies before conception, birth, and especially after they come earthside. With love and the understanding to not parentify or pedestal them just because they were “all knowing” before they were born.
How I work
When I connect to your spirit bab(y/ies), they appear in a variety of ways depending on their readiness, and yours. Makichen (Spirit Babies) describes spirit babies as green orbs that attach themselves to one of their future parent’s auras. Green represents healing, earth, and the heart. While I sometimes see the color green, I often see them simply as babies. They can appear as concentrated light, shining different colors, but their readiness to be born shows up in how clear of an image they are when they come through in a session.
I feel their exuberance and lightness, their sweet, youthful innocence dancing and shining. Sometimes the light takes on color. But they are often more defined. The vision of your spirit baby can be softer in focus, opaque, shadowy, transparent. And where they are in relation to you tells me about their readiness. Are they near you? Are they showing up on your body, your womb? The closer they are to your womb, the better or more immediate your chances for conception are, if that is your goal.
My vision can even show me their birth order. Yes, sometimes I see more than one baby. While I encourage you to speak to and love all of your spirit babies, if you’re trying to conceive, it’s important to focus on the one that’s coming in strongest - the one who may come in first or next.
Paying full attention to the first spirit baby waiting to join you earthside is an important relationship to build, especially since they can then open the door to future babies once they arrive (if that’s what you want). Any additional spirit babies you have will understand that your dedication to the one next in line is aligned with your devotion to them too, as the next in line paves the way for whoever is up after.
